Today we continue to introduce the structure and accessories of excavators. In the previous issues, we introduced the core powertrain such as the engine and hydraulic pump, as well as the boom and dipper. In addition to some internal accessories, excavators are also very important. An excavator is not only equipped with a powerful power system and hydraulic system, but also the hydraulic pipelines, electrical system, cooling system and transmission system that are connected to each other to make the excavator operate normally. In addition to these, there are many parts that we have overlooked. Today, I will simply introduce them to you.
1. Hydraulic pipeline
The price and quality of excavator hydraulic management in the market are very different. For small excavators, the hydraulic pressure is relatively low and the daily loss is relatively large. Considering the cost and use, many people usually use cheap hydraulic management instead. Of course, there is no problem. It’s just that the service life is short, and oil leakage and pipe bursting will occur in the later stage. The convenience of replacement has no effect on daily use, but for large excavators, poor quality hydraulic pipes need to be considered carefully. Hydraulic flow and temperature, boom and dipper activity, and the flexibility and quality of the pipeline are very critical. At present, internationally renowned brands include Parker, Eaton, Gates, Manuli, RYCO, Kärcher, ContiTech, and Sumitomo Riko. Each company has its own unique technical performance in terms of production process and performance, especially in terms of corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, and high strength, which are favored and loved by everyone. Although the price is higher, the longer service life is still convenient for users.
2. Electrical system
With the intelligent upgrade of excavators, the electrical system is very advanced. Of course, in addition to the conventional circuit system, it plays a very important role in the intelligent monitoring, fault detection, fuel consumption control and hydraulic flow electrical system of the entire excavator equipment. In addition to the improvement of operator comfort and convenience in the cockpit, it is mainly the comprehensive control of core components. At present, in addition to the hardware improvement of the engine fuel economy, the major manufacturers also use the electronic control system to adjust different types of work to further improve fuel consumption performance.
3. Cooling system
This is very important for skilled operators. The excavator generates a lot of heat when the engine and hydraulic pump are working. If the cooling system is not designed well in high temperature weather, it will directly lead to the decline of excavator working performance and shorten the service life. Heat dissipation is not just the water tank of the excavator. The design of the entire excavator directly affects the heat dissipation for air circulation and the utilization of internal space. The emergence of the previous generations of short-tail excavators was because the engine was large at that time and the heat dissipation effect was not ideal. When working in high temperature outdoor environment, many equipment would have problems such as performance degradation. The emergence of excavator intercoolers effectively reduced the temperature pressure of the hydraulic pump system. However, now the products rarely have such problems.
For users who want to buy excavators, or users who buy used excavators, it is necessary to master certain theoretical knowledge about excavators, especially for the daily maintenance of used excavators, users need to have a good understanding of the maintenance cycle and maintenance scope of the equipment. More than 3.000 excavators provided by Tiedou used excavator trade network have been screened and strictly tested for performance and manual testing to ensure the normal use of the equipment.
